On Straws

Imagine what a little kid might think if he happened to look at the TV on a day like this. Imagine what this sleek little logo might mean to a kid today.

Truth is that today kids can’t be bothered to comprehend stuff beyond what they’ve got to, and honestly, why should they have to? The Google is there to supply them with information literally fingertips away.

So, “Why, how interesting,” today’s kid might imagine. “Red and blue make purple. The year is 2011. Important people are playing with straws today.”

I rest my case. If you’re a parent and your kid is asking you why the person on TV is asking lots of red-faced people about straws, please, please do not persist to assure your kid that the straws are the bendy-kind and move on.

My Name Is Alan Finnell

Salutations is really incredibly too edgy a greeting for a blog. Hello will have to do.

To begin these chronicles, I will tell you a bit about myself. My name is Alan Finnell, and I can be found commonly living in Washington, D.C. Honestly, there’s not much to be said for me. I’m a simple guy, I get by, and I hate rhyming accidentally.

I’d like to one day be a writer, but I think I’d write a book under a pseudonym. There’s just a higher level of mystery and prestige to it that way. Whatever.

It is my wish that you come to know me as Alan Finnell. As of today, I’m blogging on a whim.
